Aligned with Republic Act No. 11465, also known as the General Appropriations Act (GAA) for the Fiscal Year (FY) 2020, and Climate Change Act, as amended, the Climate Change Commission (CCC) conducts several capacity building initiatives for several government agencies to ensure the effective and efficient implementation of climate change-related general and special provisions under the General Appropriations Act. Pursuant to the Climate Change Act of 2009 (Republic Act 9729), as amended, and the General Appropriations Act (Republic Act 11260), the Climate Change Commission (CCC) was mandated to coordinate, monitor and evaluate climate change adaptation and mitigation in the programs, and action plans of the government, especially the climate change-related GAA Provisions.
Putting value on whole-of-government convergence, the CCC is working with relevant government agencies in the conduct of monitoring and reporting of climate change-related GAA Provisions. This initiative is being linked with the Climate Change Expenditure Tagging (CCET) Program as part of the enhanced public climate budget resources, and the initial report and stocktake which will be integrated to the Climate Budget Brief.
